Facts and Notes

  • Title: "Hochadelicher Behaimischer Untertan" (see person note)1
  • Religious Affiliation: Evangelical-Lutheran
  • Birth: About 17231
  • Marriage: About 1748; _____ _____, [wife of Georg OßMANN],1
  • Occupation: Before 1776; Unterrüsselbach, Forchheim, Bayern, GermanyBGO; Farmer1
  • Death: Before 23 July 17761
  • Note: "Hochadelicher Untertan” translates to something like “High Noble Subject.” “Behaimischer” does not translate into anything specific and does not refer to a place. However, there was a powerful merchant family named “Behaim” living in Nuremberg during the 16th- and 17th-century (see abebooks.com synopsis of a book called “Three Behaim Boys: Growing Up in Early Modern Germany”). This suggests to me that perhaps Georg was a high-ranking official representing or working for the Behaim family. If anyone has a better interpretation, please let me know.
