In the guardianship act, the mother states that she has given birth five times, making him her 5th illegitimate child. His guardian is the "Köbler" (a "Köbler" was a person who worked as a tenant farmer or a cottager, typically cultivating a small plot of land) Georg Brendel, who lived in House Number 7 in Ermreus. In April 1875, Johann Georg was in the care of the farmer Konrad Schüpferling, from whom he learned economics work. In December 1877, he was in the service of Konrad Schüpferling von Ermreus. The guardianship lasts from 28 February 1863 until 23 February 1884. Georg Brendel was also the guardian Johann Georg's sister and his brother Lorenz.
