  • Note: Johann Georg Bauer Born was born in Triefenbach in 1782 and made his living as a bricklayer in Tütschengereuth. By 1853, he was a 71-year-old widower suffering from pleurisy and rheumatic catarrhal fever. However, instead of dying from illness or old age, he died suddenly on February 8th, 1853, after being struck in the head by a woman during an altercation at a local inn. The nature of the incident remains unclear, but it prompted an official autopsy. The judicial commission’s report has not survived, and no records reveal the fate of the woman involved. Johann Georg’s funeral was held on February 10th at the Catholic cemetery in Tütschengereuth, and it was attended by both Catholics and Protestants, suggesting he was well-regarded in the community.
