Rafael Giron¹

born about 1908

Birth: About 1908; New Mexico, USAB G O; The 1920 census lists Rafael as the son of Senon and Elaria Reyes. If this is correct, Senon would have been at least 58, and Elaria would have been at least 49 years old. Having children at this late stage of life is biologically improbable (though not impossible), suggesting the possibilty that Rafael might have been adopted and was being raised by Senon and Elaria. Moreover, Senon's grandson (Roy Reyes) did not think that his father, Vicente Reyes, had a brother. One possibility is that this Rafael refers to Rafael (Ralph) Giron, a relative and close family friend later in life.^2,1
