• Birth: Before 1848; In Early Settlers of Alabama, James Saunders indicates that the 4th son of William H. Price and Elizabeth Dixon was born 12 years before the civil war started (about 1848); William is the first son and therefore would have been born before that date.¹
• Anecdote: Before 1862; During the US Civil War, William Price became captain of the "Florence Guards" after the promotion of Gen. Sterling Wood, was killed at the battle of Perryville, Ky.¹
• Death: About 8 October 1862; Perryville, Boyle County, Kentucky, USABGO. Cause of Death: Killed in battle during the Battle of Perryville²
