She married into the military, traveled to Okinawa, Germany, France and then back to Lawton. She retired from Civil Service at Fort Sill, and later moved to Fort Cobb and became a member of Alfalfa Methodist Church and a member of the Rebeka Lodge # 307. Viola was an avid fisherwoman, loved to read, make quilts and cook. For the last four years she had been a resident at McMahon-Tomlinson.2
