- Note: Johann Bauer, the oldest of Christian and Hanna Maria's children, was the owner of the Bauer Steam Brickworks in Bischberg. This large industrial complex included a partial ring kiln, a steam-powered chimney, and multiple industrial and residential structures. In addition to the brickworks, he held a sizable portfolio of property in Bischberg, Erlau, and Oberhaid, totaling over 50 acres. Around 1906–07, Johann attempted to expand the family enterprise by establishing a new brickyard in Forchheim. To cover the debts incurred during this project, he transferred his Bischberg Brickworks and his property holdings to the Bamberg Brick and Clay Works in March 1907. He moved to Forchheim shortly after and spearheaded the construction of the new Forchheim Ziegel & Tonwerk on Bayreuthstrasse. Johann lived on-site and managed high-level business affairs while his brothers handled daily operations. The venture was short-lived: after the sudden and tragic death of his wife Babette in a steam-related accident in 1908, Johann sold the factory to Otto Pabst and relocated to Nürnberg.
