  • Note: Johann Hans Bauer, who went by his middle name, was the youngest of the three Bauer brothers involved in the brickmaking trade. He worked at the Bauer Steam Brickworks in Bischberg alongside his siblings, gaining experience in brick and tile production that had been passed down through generations of the Bauer family in Tütschengereuth. When the family expanded their business to Forchheim in 1907, Hans assumed responsibility for managing day-to-day operations at the new Forchheim Ziegel & Tonwerk. The venture came to an abrupt end after the 1908 death of Johann’s wife in a steam-related accident. Although the factory was sold to Otto Pabst later that year, Hans remained in Forchheim and continued in his same role, managing daily operations under the new ownership.
