Martha Stone Cobb Daniel wrote the following about Will Cobb: "Will Cobb had his weaknesses, also, I am told. It was an accepted fact that he was supposed to fill his Father's unexpired term as Judge, and, because of this, a few of his opponents waved a bottle under his nose, and after a few drinks, he was easily persuaded to accompany friends out of Vernon at the time of the appointment - Oliver Young's Father was appointed Judge."
