Apolonia Pena1

F, b. circa 1840
ChartsDecendents of Jesus Cuaron
Apolonia Pena was born circa 1840 at Juarez, Chihuhahua, Mexico.1,2,3,4 She married Lorenzo Cuaron.5 Her married name was Cuaron.1 Apolonia Pena married Florencio Cuaron, son of Jesus Cuaron and Jesus Apodaca, on 27 April 1879 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, New Mexico.1,6,7 Apolonia Cuaron was buried at Old Dona Ana Cemetery, Dona Ana, Dona Ana County, New Mexico.7

In the 1880 census, Apolonia claims to be 40 years old, which would have meant that she was born around 1840. In the 1900 census, she claims that she was born in Oct 1851. However, given that her daughter Carolina was born in 1860, it seems that 1840 would to be the more likely year.

Her place of birth is also in question. In the 1880 census she claims to have been born in Mexico, while in the 1900 census she says she was born in New Mexico. The death certificates of her two sons, Gregorio and Luis, are equally contradictory: Gregorio's death certificate states that she was born in Dona Ana, New Mexico, while Luis's death certificate claims that she was born in Juarez, Mexico.1,2,3,4
